ABSTRACT
In this study six Schiff bases of N-(acridin-9(10H)-ylidene)-substituted aniline were prepared. The structures of compounds were confirmed by their physicochemical and spectral means (IR and 1HNMR). The synthesized compounds were further screened for their antimicrobial activity against S. aureus, B. subtilis (Gram positive), and P. aeruginosa, E. coli (Gram negative) bacteria and C. albican and A. niger fungal strain. Among these synthesized compounds, some of the compounds showed significant antimicrobial activity.
