A SURVEY STUDY TO ASSESS THE ROLE OF VAJARASANA WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO CONSTIPATION

ABSTRACT
In Yoga Asana is first in Hatha yoga pradipika. Vajrasana is lord
Indra‟s weapon. Vajrasana helps to keep Blood pressure under control,
strengthens thigh and calf muscles as well as it improves digestive
function and strength the abdomen muscles which may help to
decrease constipation. Aim: To study the effects of Vajrasana with
special reference to constipation. Materials and Method: A total 500 volunteers of the age group 20-50 years who is practicing vajrasana regularly for 15 minutes for 3 months and above irrespective of gender. All the volunteers were asked to complete the questionnaire. Conclusion: Regularly practicing of vajrasana helps to prevent constipation.
