ABSTRACT
In 2022, a three-year quality improvement (QI) initiative was initiated
across eleven Indian hospitals to address the pressing issue of
antibiotic resistance (ABR) which poses a significant global public
health threat. The initiative aimed to enhance institutional capabilities
for infection prevention and control (IPC) as well as antimicrobial
stewardship (AMS). With the support of Americares, dedicated staff
teams responsible for IPC and AMS were stationed at these hospitals.
This abstract provides an overview of the initial subset of ABR-related
activities conducted during the period from June 2022 to June 2023.
