In past days the use of sunscreen lotion was less, but nowadays people
knew about the harmful effects of UV, so the use of sunscreen is
increasing gradually, and most of the marketed products are chemically
formulated and harmful for the skin and main aim of our present study
was the formulation and development of herbal sunscreen lotion which
contains more skin friendly ingredients like chrysanthemum, aloe vera,
almond oil, turmeric etc. chrysanthemum is used as the main active
ingredient because of its UV protection property. Extraction is done for
herbal ingredients, and excipients are used in this formulation are cetyl
alcohol, steric acid, triethanolamine, neem, black tea, lavender oil distilled water. Evaluation
parameters like pH, spreadability, feel test, removal test, viscosity, thermal stability, irritancy
test is performed. Prepared sunscreen lotion exhibits good SPF (sun protecting factor) value
along with good consistency and homogeneity and appearance and no evidence of phase
