SHAT CHAKRA AND ITS APPLIED ASPECT ACCORDING TO YOGA SAMHITA: A REVIEW

ABSTRACT Introduction: In Vedic Samhita Chakra are having great importance to our mental health. According to Vedic Samhita there are 6 Chakra in our body-Muladhara, Swadhisthan, Manipur, Anahat, Visudha, Aagya. Chakra modulates the flow of subtle energy. This energy is vital to life and controlled by nervous system. By using chakras, a clinician can appreciate the integration of human organ system. These chakras are considered as “Center of energy”. Anatomically these chakras may represent the nervous plexus and function according to their area of supply. In this article the effort is made to review all the shat chakras and their applied aspect. Material & Method: Literary review was done from Shiv Samhita, Hathayoga pradipika and various yoga books on it. Result: Shat Chakra impact on body very effectively and control our nervous system. Discussion & Conclusion: In each person there are myriads of Chakra but in the practice of tantra and yoga, only a few principle ones are utilized.
