Due to the bitter taste of the drug there is a constant problem in the treatment of the patients due to their inability or unwillingness to swallow such formulation specifically, in children and elderly. This lead to the improvement of taste masking technologies which improved the characteristics of the dosage form and good patient compliance is achieved and is done by either decreasing its oral solubility on ingestion or decreasing the amount of drug particles exposed to taste buds thereby reducing the perception of bitter taste. Methods frequently used for taste masking involves various physicaland chemical method that avoid the interaction of taste bud with drugs and are based on coatings by using Spray drying techniques.
