ABSTRACT
The pharmaceutical gel is a semi-solid dosage form made up of a liquid dispersion medium and a 3-D network of polymers. The incorporation of cinnamon oil and vitamin C in the gel formulation can be seen potential in enhancing the skin’s brightness and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, natural anti-oxidant property. An anti-aging gel is a skin care product made to lessen the look of wrinkles, fine lines, and other aging symptoms. It has active components that moisturize the skin, increase collagen formation, and offer protection from environmental deterioration. Gel was prepared using ingredients like Carbopol 934,cinnamon oil, Vitamin C., Propylene glycol, Methyl parabeen, Triethanolamine, HPMC 500M with the help of mixing method. Formulated gel was evaluated and compared with marketed gel for pH, viscosity, spreadability, extrudability, drug content, in vitro drug diffusion, ex-vivo bio-adhesive test and skin irritation test. Topical gel having best drug releasing profile was evaluated for anti-aging and skin brightening potency.
