COMPARATIVE CLINICAL STUDY OF MANDOOR BHASMA WITH AND WITHOUT SWARNAKSHIRYADI YOGA VATI IN THE MANAGEMENT OF PANDU ROGA WSR TO IRON DEFICIENCY ANAEMIA - A STUDY PROTOCOL

ABSTRACT
Pandu Roga is a Pitta dominant TridoshajaVyadhi which has been described as Rasapradoshaja by Charak and Raktapradoshaja by Sushruta. As the name suggests, Panduvarnata (yellowish white discolouration is seen in this disease which is due to Raktalpata (reduced blood). It is correlated to Iron Deficiency Anaemia which occurs due to poor nutrition and improper iron absorption. Aim:- Efficacy of MandoorBhasmawith and without Swarnakshiryadi Yoga Vatiin the management of PanduRoga (Iron Deficiency Anaemia). Material and Methods:- A study was conducted on 60 patients of Panduwhich were divided into two groups of 30 each. In Group A MandoorBhasma250 mg two times a day after meals with warm water for 30 days& In Group B 500 mg Swarnakshiryadi Yoga Vati three times a day after meal along with MandoorBhasma250 mg two times a day after meal with warm water for 30 dayswasadministered. Assessment was recorded on 0th,15th& 30th day. Result:-Subjective and Objective outcomes were assessed; both the groups were given equal effects on both the parameters i.e. subjective & objective. Conclusion:-Swarnakshiryadi Yoga Vati with Mandoor Bhasma was found to be more effective than MandoorBhasma alone.
