ABSTRACT
Aim: Design and Characterization of Gymnema sylvestre Silver Nanoparticles In-vitro Antidiabetic Activity. Place and Duration of the study: The present work has been carried out between July 2021-April 2022, at School of Pharmacy, Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai -600119. Methodology: The synthesis of silver nanoparticles was carried out using ethanolic and aqueous extract of Gymnema Sylvestre leaves. The formulated silver nanoparticles were subjected to UV, Particle Size Analysis, FTIR, SEM analysis. In-vitro antidiabetic activity was evaluated with the
formulated Gymnema sylvestre silver nanoparticle. Result: The reduction of silver nitrate to silver nanoparticles was confirmed by UV spectrophotometer, at 400nm. FTIR analysis. The reduction of silver nitrate to silver nanoparticles was confirmed by UV-Visible spectrophotometer at about 400 nm which is specific for Ag-NPs. In FTIR analysis showed that no interaction between Gymnema sylvestre and silver nitrate. SEM analysis reveals that silver nanoparticles are spherical in shape low particle size. In-vitro antidiabetic activity of Gymnema Sylvestre nanoparticles showed their antidiabetic activity by blocking carbohydrates hydrolyzing enzyme
