REVIEW ARTICLE ON IMPORTANCE OF ROG PARIKSHA- A DIAGNOSTIC TOOL

ABSTRACT

Ayurveda is ancient science which means science of life. The holistic Ayurvedic Science firmly believes in preventive and promotive aspects of health. According to this science diagnosis should always precede the treatment. It focuses on understanding the disease and to maintain the healthy wellbeing. In context to diagnose the disease there are various concepts described in our Samhitas in which Rog Pariksha is one such approach of Ayurveda. The diagnosis of disease achieved by Nidan Panchaka i.e., Nidan, Poorvarupa, Rupa, Upshaya and Samprapti. Proper knowledge of these components is very essential to make proper diagnosis as well as for treatment.
