EFFICACY OF SWARNA PRASHANA ACCORDING TO AYURVEDIC AND MODERN ASPECTS- A REVIEW

ABSTRACT
SwarnaPrashana (Oral organization of gold as electuary) is an exceptional practice reported in Ayurveda under Kaumarabhritya. Kashyapa Samhita, which is the legitimate reading material of Kaumarabhritya (paediatrics), portrays this extraordinary plan under the setting of Lehana (licking technique by electuary).[1] Oral administration by Lehana is considered to be convenient and safe way in paediatric age group. It enhances Medha (Intelligence), Agni (digestive power), Bala (strength) and Ayu (age). It is Varnya (complexion), Pavitra (pious), and Mangalkaraka (good will). Swarnaprashan is additionally called as Swarna Amrita Prashana, Swarna Bindu Prashana.[2] Acharya Sushruta depicted Jatkarma samskara, it implies organization of Swarna with Ghrita and Madhu. It can be called as special Ayurvedic Immunization. Ayurveda's prophylaxis (preventive) method is ancient, reliable, safe and successful. The strategy is entirely different and places a premium on Immunity management based on its own theory and practice. Hence review study taken to evaluate the efficacy of Swarna Prashana according to modern aspects and ayurvedic aspects.
