A REVIEW 0N PURIFICATION OF SELECTED POISONOUS PLANTS USED IN SIDDHA MEDICINE

ABSTRACT
Introduction: Siddha Medicine is one of the ancient Medicines systems. In Siddha Medicines Purification is the process, which involves the Conversion of any poisonous drug into nontoxic ones. It is termed as Suthi. Aim: This study is design to evaluate some purification methods of selected poisonous plants. Place and duration of the study: Government Siddha Medical College Palayankottai from August to December 2021. Methodology: I found 74 purification methods for selected 15 poisonous plants from relevant Siddha classical literatures and articles. The detail information of the poisonous plants and purification methods identified as classification grading, clinical features, medicinal preparation of poisonous plants various Suthi muraigal, mentioned in Siddha text books. Conclusion: This literature review provides that after purification how many dreadful qualities of poisons are diminished to make it useful therapeutically.
