ABSTRACT
Epilepsy is one of the most global neurological problem and the severity of disease depends from person to person. Mostly antiepileptic drugs are administered orally or intravenously but an alternative new approach has also come into existence called as intranasal route. This route is the best suited as it reaches the brain bypassing the blood brain barrier and it also does not undergo first pass metabolism. Hence by this route it is possible to obtain easy and noninvasive route of administration which eventually increases the patient compliance. The main aim of this review is to discuss all the innovative application of nanomedicines which are used in the treatment of epilepsy by using nose to brain delivery.
Keywords: Intranasal, Brain, Epilepsy, Nose to brain, Antiepileptic drug.
