PHARMACEUTICO ANALYTICAL STUDY OF GOMUTRASAVA AND GOMUTRAGHANA AND EVALUATION OF ITS ANTIMICROBIAL ACTIVITY

ABSTRACT
Background: Gomutra (Cow's urine) has been described to be a most effective substance of animal origin having wide therapeutic potentials. It is called as “Amrita” i.e. beverage of immortality It is useful in treatment of various diseases due to its Bio enhancer, Anticancerous, Immuno-stimulant, Anticonvulsant, Antimicrobial and Antioxidant properties. But due to its pungent smell it is very much essential to modify it into the different dosage forms. Aim and Objective: Pharmaceutical and analytical Study of Gomutrasava and Gomutraghana and evaluation of its antimicrobial activity. Material & Method: Fresh Gomutra will be collected from Goshala and other drugs will be collected from Dattatraya Ayurveda Rasashala of the institute. Gomutrasava will be prepared according to reference cited in Astanga Hrdaya. Gomutraghana will be prepared according to rasakriya general method cited by Dalhana-the commentator of
Sushruta Samhita. Quality control parameters will be done for both the products. It will also test for its antimicrobial activity. Observation and Results: The data will be assessed for its anti microbial activity by using relevant statistical tests. Conclusion: Development of appropriate formulations of cow urine ie. Gomutrasava and Gomutraghan and its antimicrobial activity will help to combat a variety of microbial disorders and thus enhancing the human immune system.
