ABSTRACT
The diet is gaining relevance within the therapies in degenerative diseases. Recent studies mention that these diets improved the quality of life of patients; this improvement is achieved through functional foods and nutraceuticals. The objective of this research was to study the anticancer properties of 4-(α-l-rhamnosyloxy) benzyl isothiocyanate (ITC-α) with a focus on colorectal cancer using quantum chemistry. Hyperchem software was used as a quantum chemistry simulator. The fundamental basis of quantum calculations was the theory of the electron transfer coefficient (ETC). As a result, almost similar oxidation-reduction interactions are shown in two box-and-whisker diagrams. With this result we can infer that there is homeostasis or chemical balance between ITC- and the AAs of human proteins. As a general conclusion, we say that ITC- inhibits the metabolic performance of many proteins and enzymes.
