ABSTRACT
Water resources have great importance for the existence of life. Therefore, there is a need of sustainable use of water resources especially lakes. Present study deals with the study of Physico-chemical parameters of Dharmasager Lake in Hanumakonda District of Telangana State, aiming at making an assessment of the water quality. This study prepares a comprehensive physico - chemical status of the lake carried out for a period of one year from January 2021 to December 2021. In the present study, the water samples were collected from the spots selected for the study in different seasons. The physicochemical parameters viz. temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, dissolved Carbon dioxide, alkalinity, and T.D.S. were recorded by using standard methods. Monthly variations in the physical and chemical parameters such as temperature, pH (6.90 -7.49), Dissolved Oxygen (6.10 -7.28 mg/L), Turbidity (1.50 – 5.80), Chlorides (33.20 – 50.48 mg/L), Phosphate (0.90 – 1.58 mg/L) Nitrate (0.84– 1.40 mg/L) etc were investigated. Water samples were collected from the lake and analyzed using the Standard laboratory methods and procedures. All the parameters are within permissible limits.
