FORMULATION AND EVALUATION OF POLYHERBAL ANTIDANDRUFF HAIR SERUM

ABSTRACT
The Ayurvedic System of medicine was one of the predominant system that uses herbal plants is their extracts for the therapy of various malady. Nowadays, cosmetics have significant demand in everyday life and many people use them regularly. Herbal cosmetics are popular because it is safe and effective to use in comparison with other synthetic cosmetic products flooded in the market and it has fewer side effects. Hair serum can be used to keep the hair and scalp clean and provide relief from dandruff. The formulation mainly contains concentrated ingredients such as orange, fenugreek, black cumin, ginger, chia seed. It also utilises pomegranate extract for treating fungal infection in hair and have anti-inflammatory property. Three formulation of cosmetic serum ( F1, F2, F3) with different ingredients have been developed. They were evaluated for its physical appearance, PH, homogeneity, viscosity, microbial contamination and antidandruff activity. All the parameters were found to be good and within standards. The data of investigation demonstrated that the antidandruff serum of F1 composition have properties similar to that of an ideal serum and also the serum exhibit antidandruff property against Candida albicans.
