FORMULATION AND EVALUATION OF DISPERSIBLE TABLET FOR DIGESTIVE PROPERTY

ABSTRACT
The aim of the present study was to transform ayurvedic formulation into modern dosage form such as poly-herbal dispersible tablet without altering the chemical properties of the original formulation. The formulation consists of fine powder of amla, ginger & pudina. Polyherbal churna was prepared and then poly-herbal churna was extracted with the use of 30% alcohol. Standardization parameters such as loss on drying, ash value, extractive value was carried out for churna. The evaluation of polyherbal churna and polyherbal extract was done using preliminary phytochemical tests. The dispersible tablet was formulated and evaluated for pre and post compression parameters. The standardization parameters showed the results within the standard limits, thus confirming the quality and purity of the raw materials. Pre- and post-compression parameters for the formulation of poly-herbal dispersible tablets found within the acceptable range.
