A LITERATURE REVIEW ON GHARBHASHAYARBUDA AND ITS MANAGEMENT WSR TO UTERINE FIBROID

ABSTRACT
In women of reproductive age Uterine fibroid is most common disease which are significiant morbidity in large scale. It is more common benign neoplasia thus reveal complaints like metrorrhagia, dysmenorrhoe, menorrhagia, lower abdominal pain, lower backache or problems related to pregnancy like infertility, recurrent abortions etc. Modern treatment for uterine fibroids include hormonal therapy, myomectomy, hysterectomy. Thus as a consequence, uterine fibroid ranks as the major reason for hysterectomy. Therefore subjects approach ayurvedic treatment due to disinclination for prolong use of hormonal treatment and anxiety for surgical intervention. Ayurvedic
classics describes many similar features to fibroid and is correlated with Garbhashayarbuda. Arbuda disease described in ayurvedic classics and is correlated with tumors. A thorough understanding of the process of disease having regard to the dosh, dushya, Mala, Strotas involved is important in treatment point of view. The treatment aimed towards reducing the fibroid size and the symptoms associated with it by using Ushna, tikshna, lekhaneya dravyas. Thus here we are concentrating on ayurvedic management of different aspects of uterine fibroid.
