S. Sangeetha*, Dipanwita Kamila, Sandhiya N., Vishal Kumar and Shobha Rani R. H.
ABSTRACT
The purpose of this review was to assess the impact of pharmacist involvement in cancer patients’ pain management. Relevant previous papers and studies were identified via computer literature searches. The pharmacists frequently provided medication reviews, patient education, the detection and management of adverse drug reactions (ADRs), pharmacological recommendations (in the selection of pharmacotherapy and dosage), and pain assessment. Thus, pharmacists have significantly improved the therapeutic outcomes of cancer patients who are experiencing pain. This shows that patients greatly benefit when pharmacists are included in the cancer team, either directly or in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
