Amitder Nath Chatterjee* and Asit Ranjan Sahu
ABSTRACT
Organic substances having a complicated structure are essential oils. These oils are fragrant essences taken from sources of nature that, when concentrated, can be employed in pharmaceuticals, food choices, scents, sanitary, and cosmetics items. Oils made from essential oils are currently recognised as prevalent food additions with significant uses in the food commodity preservation. Essential oils can be used as an alternative for the chemically synthesized preservatives made from chemicals due to their higher potency and lack of negative impacts on humans and the natural world. Essential oils from plants are recognised to have repelling properties and hence have an useful role to play in pest management. Because of their antibacterial properties against harmful microbes, essential oils are able to be combined into or deposited onto films that are edible. The present review mainly deals with the usage of essential oils in the treatment of bacterial, fungal, and other microbial infection.
