SHARAD RUTU; PITTA PRAKOPA; RUTU HARITAKI - A TRILOGY REVIEW

ABSTRACT
The impact of the season on human health and happiness is significant. The intensity of heat and cold vary as a result of earth's movement. In order to prevent the harmful effects of seasonal changes on the body and to promote health, the notion of Rutucharya (seasonal regimes) has been extensively discussed in Ayurveda. The Materials have been collected from Ayurvedic text of Charaka Samhita, Susrutha Samhita, Ashtanga Hridaya, and Bhavaprakasha with different commentaries, modern books and research article. Sharad Rutu (autumn season) is a part of Visarga Kala of Ashvina and Kartika Masa. It is expected that in Sharad Rutu when Pitta reaches Prakopavastha, the disease or
symptoms related to Pitta will occur. Aacharya Bhavaprakasha mention Rutu Haritaki as Rasayana (rejuvenative) were Haritaki is taken along with different ingredients in different seasons. The practice of Rutu Haritaki consumption in Sharad Rutu will pacifies Pitta Dosha. It is a health promotive and protective and also disease preventive practice, which is cost effective and palatable. This review elucidates the trilogy of Sharad rutu, Pitta Prakopa and Rutu Haritaki.
