The ingredients used in the preparation of Herbal shampoos are natural and are meant for cleansing hair and scalp just like regular shampoo. These shampoos are free from side effects since no surfactants are involved, have good stability and are less harmful compared to synthetic shampoo. The main constituent of black pepper stem is the Piperine which possess anti-fungal property and thus useful for anti-dandruff treatment. The piperine and other constituents also provides hair growth, hair nourishment also. The main objective of this study was to eliminate harmful synthetic ingredient from anti-dandruff shampoo formulation and substitute them with a safe natural ingredient like black pepper. Herbal shampoo can be prepared with black pepper stem collected from local area and can be extracted by various extraction method like maceration and can be formulated.
