ABSTRACT
To develop spectrophotometric method for the estimation of Fe(III) ion in industrial wastewater samples. Various analytical parameters such as acidity, reagent concentration, sample size, time, temperature, and buffer solutions were studied. The method is based on the chelation of the Fe (III) with vitamin B6)pyridoxine hydrochloride (is being directed to an important approach in the microanalysis of iron to form yellow-orange colored metal-chelate complex in aqueous solution of pH4 at room temperature which absorbs maximally at 390nm. Beer s law is obeyed over the concentration range of 2-28 μg/ml with molar absorptivity and Sandell s sensitivity of 0.611x104 l/mol.cm and
0.05μg/cm2 respectively, relative standard deviation (RSD)is less.2 (n=10). The method is applied successfully for determination of Fe(III) ion in industrial wastewater samples.
