ABSTRACT

Ayurveda is the science of life. Every concept of Ayurveda contributes to maintaining the health of healthy person and cure diseased person. In the Shalya Tantra fraternity, there are different types of surgical and para-surgical procedures mentioned in Ayurvedic literature. Kshara Karma is one of the para-surgical procedures of Ayurveda. With the proper use of Kshara, many chronic diseases can be cured easily. For proper use of Kshara, it is important to know widely about its Guna and Dosha. In this article, an attempt is made to understand the Guna and Dosha of Kshara, along with a brief review of Kshara.
