ABSTRACT
All around the world, cigarette butts are a prevalent litter item. These strewn butts have the potential to contaminate the ecosystem. Where there is a lot of cigarette litter, there may be environmental dangers. Leaching of chemicals from filters and smoked tobacco is to blame for this. Over 200,000000 pounds of used cigarette butts are thrown annually in the United States, according to a survey. The biodegradation of each butt can take eight to 10 years. Each cigarette produces more than 4500 chemicals that can irritate the skin, and cigarettes also include poisonous, mutagenic, and carcinogenic elements that pollute the environment. Smoking cigarettes also releases heavy metal pollutants, which pose serious risks to both human and environmental health. This primarily comprises the traces.
