ABSTRACT
Blood pressure is the pressure of blood pushing against the walls of your arteries. Arteries carry blood from your heart to other parts of our body. Hypertension is the most important risk factor for cardiovascular system There is limited data on hypertension prevalence in India. This study was conducted to estimate the hypertension among Indian adults. The accurate measurement of blood pressure (BP) is essential for the diagnosis and management of hypertension. Participants who accepted to participate in the study were collected. Arterial pressure is most commonly measured via a sphygmomanometer Normal resting blood
pressure in an adult is approximately 120 millimetres of mercury (16 kPa) systolic, and 80 millimetres of mercury (11 kPa) diastolic, abbreviated "120/80 mmHg". Traditionally, blood pressure was measured non-invasively using a mercury manometer and this is still generally considered the gold standard.
