STATUS OF SERUM VITAMIN D3 LEVEL IN CONGENITAL HEART DISEASE WITH SPECIAL REFERRENCE TO PULMONARY HYPERTENSION

ABSTRACT
This study is to assess the status of serum vitamin D3 in patients with congenital heart disease with and without pulmonary hypertension. Also, to compare and correlate the levels of serum VitaminD3 in cases with congenital heart disease. and age matched healthy controls. Vitamin D deficiency is defined as serum 25(OH) D level30 ng/ml is considered sufficient. We in our study followed the recommendation of US endocrine society due to its worldwide acceptance. Based on the findings of echocardiography people were divided in two groups i.e with pulmonary hypertension and without pulmonary hypertension. Then the serum vitamin D levels was checked in both groups as well as the control groups of patients without congenital heart disease.
