TOOTHCARE FORMULATION WITH POLYHERBS

ABSTRACT
Objectives: - To formulate and evaluate the herbal toothpaste by using a neem powder, black pepper, orange oil and so on to give an antigingivitic, anticaries, antiplaque, antimicrobial effect. The objective of the study was to develop toothpaste formulations; toothpaste is a paste or gel dentifrice used with a toothbrush to clean, maintain the health of the teeth and to provide the therapeutic effect. Methods: - Formulate of toothpaste by using a dry gum method Firstly all solid ingredient’s weighted accurately and pass through an 80 no sieve. Mixed the ingredients with help of mortar pestle. Formulate the base and finally add the colouring and flavouring agent. Result: - The
formulation shows the good physical properties like colour, odour, taste smoothness. Conclusion: - Herbal toothpaste shows the good action to maintaining the dental caries and oral hygiene. The herbal toothpaste shows the safer minimum side effects. The formulated herbal toothpastes are evaluated by different tests like Physical Examination, pH determination, Homogeneity, Sharp and edge abrasive particles, Determination of moisture and volatile matter, Spreadability, Stability study, Extrudability etc.
