ABSTRACT
Siddha system of medicine has a distinctive approach to care specific ailments and also to built up the immunity power of the person being treated against all the disease. The formulations of siddha medicine mainly comprises with herbal, mineral/metal and animal origin.one of the most important aspects of Siddha system of medicine is Suththi mooraigal (purification)of the raw materials before using them for medicinal preparation. Purification(Suththi) process is mainly used for generations of synergistic effect with other metal and mineral preparation as formulations. Main Objective of the study is to evaluate the compounds present in Unpurified Venkaram and Purified Venkaram. The biochemical analysis of the Unpurified Venkaram reveals the presence of Sulphate, Chloride and Purified 1 Venkaram reveals the presence of Calcium and sulphate and purified 2 Venkaram reveals the presence of sulphate and chloride. The compound present in purified Venkaram enhances the efficacy and therapeutic action of the drug.
