AN AYURVEDIC MANAGEMENT OF UPAKUSHA (PYORRHEA ALVEOLARIS) – CASE REPORT

ABSTRACT
A 40 year male patient came to OPD of Shalakya Tantra with complaints of swollen gingiva with pain and occasionally pus discharge. The condition was diagnosed with Upakusha. It was managed by Prachchana Raktamokshana (~Blood-letting), Nasya (~Medicated nasal drops) and other local treatments. It took 30 days to manage the condition and another 30 days of follow up. After the treatment patient experienced a substantial reduction in pain, swelling, and gingival pus discharge.
