ABSTRACT
Microemulsion is given much more attention from ancient time for the treatment and management of different diseases. Microemulsion are one of the best candidates as novel drug delivery system because of their long shelf life, improved drug solubilization with ease of preparation and administration. Microemulsions are clear, stable, isotropic mixtures of oil, water and surfactant, frequently in combination with a cosurfactant now-a-days microemulsion is an a emerging trade and having a worldwide importance in a variety of technological applications. Microemulsion can be easily distinguished from normal emulsions by their low viscosity, transparency and more accurately their thermodynamic stability. While they are used in
several fields, in the review of pharmaceutical applications are emphosized. This review article deals with feature and application of microemulsion as a novel approach for Antifungal drug delivery a brief introduction and definition, type, formation characteristics and evaluation parameters.
Keywords: Microemulsion, Antifungal activity, Surfactant, Long shelf-life.
