ABSTRACT
Mesenteric cysts are uncommon benign intra-abdominal tumors that occur across the life course. They are considered the rarest variety between abdominal cysts and both their low incidence and the mistaken belief that was a trivial process without apparent symptoms, had contributed to their scarce knowledge. A patient of age 29 years was admitted to the hospital 2 weeks back with abdominal pain and her ultrasound scan of the abdomen suggests 5.6x5.0x5.6 cm of an adnexal cyst. She was diagnosed with a mesenteric cyst. The postoperative treatment antibiotics, NSAIDs, Proton pump inhibitors, and anti-
inflammatory agents. Mesenteric cysts are rare benign lesions occurring in the abdomen. The cystic lesions can be asymptomatic or present with specific symptoms. Examination revealed a chronic vague abdominal pain cyst occupying the abdomen. Ultrasound of the abdomen suggested 5.6x5.0x5.6cm of an adrenal cyst, which was reported as a right ovarian cyst. The selective therapeutic method is complete surgical excision, however, more than half need resection and bowel anastomosis. The excised cyst was found to have a thick wall measured 5x4cm in diameter. It was internally lined with fibrinous exudates and contained fluid. The patient had a complaint of oozing fluid through the surgical area or from the sutures, which was treated with antibiotics and the patient had an uneventful post-operative recovery.
