OZONE THERAPY AS COMPLEMENTARY TREATMENT IN A PATIENT DIAGNOSED RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS AND BREAST CANCER IN REMISSION. CASE REPORT

ABSTRACT
Ozone therapy is a treatment that helps reduce pain from many diseases, improves metabolism and the immune system, with a variety of methods and ozone concentrations depending on the clinical symptoms of the patient. The objective is to evaluate the effectiveness of ozone therapy as complementary treatment in a patient with recently diagnosed rheumatoid arthritis. Case Report: woman in remission from breast cancer, around 18 years of surgical, oncological and oral treatment, two years later was diagnosed rheumatoid arthritis she took allopathic treatment but no improvement in pain, so she decided to take ozone therapy without leaving the allopathic treatment, she was given the first ozone therapy with ten sessions of minor auto hemotherapy,
before and after the serum level of rheumatoid factor was determined.Results: after treatment, the levels of rheumatoid factor decreased, as well symptoms was reduced, after two years of the first treatment, the symptoms reappeared and she took another combined treatment of ozone therapy with minor autohemotherapy and rectal insufflation, after which the patient maintained rheumatoid factor levels and no clinical symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis to date. Conclusion: It is important to consider complementary therapies to help relieve pain, although there are different alternative therapies, ozone therapy is important for pain relief as reported by clinicians in these cases.
