BREAST CANCER: AN OVERVIEW

ABSTRACT

Breast Cancer is an aggressive form of cancer and it is a challenge to treat. It is the second leading cause of cancer deaths. Breast Cancer is a multi-step process involving various cell types. Early diagnosis is one of the best options to treat this disease. Since past few decades, researches related to breast cancer has been led to progress in understanding of the disease, resulting in munch efficient treatment. Increased level of public awareness, improved screening can lead to early diagnosis, curative therapies. There are number of types of breast cancer’s such as Triple negative breast cancer (TNBC), Metastatic breast cancer, Infiltrating (invasive) lobular carcinoma, inflammatory breast cancer, Ductal carcinoma etc. Breast Cancer can be caused due to factors like age, hereditary breast-ovarian cancer syndrome, dense breast tissue, radiation, obesity, genes, hormone therapy etc. Here, we review the types, causes, signs, risk factors, diagnosis, and treatment of special types of breast cancer.
