ABSTRACT
Flowers are important sources for different types of phyto chemicals such as Flavanoids, Terpenoids, Alkaloids, Saponins, proteins, carbohydrates etc. Because of the presence of active molecules these are using as remedies for treatment of different disorders and diseases. Not only that these are using as therapeutic agents in the treatment of several abnormal conditions like diabetes, cancer, hyper tension, Bacterial and fungal infections. In the present paper we evaluated the anti mitotic activity of methanolic extracts of flowers which are using in traditional pooja’s and other events like Roses, Jasmines, Marigold,
and Chrysanthemum etc. The activity is done by Seed germination inhibition in green gram assay method and calculated the percentage inhibition. The extracts exhibited good anti mitotic activity, among them, methanolic extract of yellow marigold shown significant activity than that of the standard Cisplatin.
