ABSTRACT
Total Quality Management (TQM) is a management approach that emphasizes a systematic and holistic approach to quality improvement in organizations. TQM is founded on a set of key principles that guide organizations in their pursuit of quality excellence. The historical development of TQM from its early origins to its current state, highlighting the key milestones and trends that have shaped its evolution has benefitted the pharmaceutical space. Various phases in the evolution of TQM as we know today, includes the quality control, quality assurance, and quality improvement phases. Their significance in the pharmaceutical industry and an in-depth analysis of the key principles of TQM, covering their concepts, applications, and benefits play a role in directing the pharmaceutical organizations. The article explores each principle in detail and discusses how organizations can apply them to improve their quality management practices and achieve better outcomes.
