REVIEW ARTICLE GESTATIONAL DIABETES MELLITUS AND SAHAJA PRAMEHA AND ITS PREVENTION

ABSTRACT
Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is the most common medical complication and metabolic disorder of pregnancy. Defined as any degree of glucose intolerance with onset or first recognition during pregnancy. Approximately 4% of all pregnancies are complicated by GDM, while prevalence may range from 1-14% of all pregnancies depending on population. Acharya ‘s has explained about Sahaja Prameha (hereditary). The main way to prevent GDM is through lifestyle changes such as diet, exercise and checking blood glucose levels. However, therapies have certain limitation as it might have potential risk for mother and foetus. To establish and adopt safer evidence-based prevention and management protocol for managing
GDM through Ayurveda treatment principle and is the review on Sahaja Prameha and gestational diabetes mellitus.
