ABSTRACT
The most common issue related with poorly water-soluble drug is very low bioavailability. These problems mostly associated with Biopharmaceutical classification system (BCS) class 2 of drug (e.g. Simavastatin, itraconazole, Carbamazepine etc.). Formulation as nanosuspension is a desirable and promising strategy to overcome these challenges. Nanosuspension is a colloidal dispersion of nanosized drug particles and stabilized with surfactants. The substance is suspended in dispersion as a pure, inadequately water-soluble nanosuspension. A nanosuspension not only addresses the issues of low solubility and bioavailability but also changes the pharmacokinetics of the drug, enhancing both efficacy and safety. This
review article describes a method of preparation, evaluation, applications of the nanosuspension.
Keywords: Nanosuspension, solubility, bioavailability, pharmacokinetic, colloidal dispersion.
