Abstract
ROLE OF PRACCHAN KARMA ALONG WITH SHIROLEPA AND SHIRODHARA IN KHALITYA - A SINGLE CASE STUDY

ABSTRACT
Hair fall is one of the minor diseases which is affecting the major part of the world‟s population. Hair fall has been explained in Ayurveda in the name of khalitya roga under the heading of kshudra roga (minor disease) or shiroroga (diseases of head & scalp). It has been most common disorder among the people with sedentary life, stress induced life style along with indiscriminate dietary habits which mite result in many deficiencies among the person which directly reflects in hairloss. We can reduce & manage this rising problem of hair fall through modifying the life style, purification therapy and medication explained through Ayurveda. Deficiency of Protein, Iron and Biotin and Anemia mite also lead to Hair fall. Patients of hair fall should be diagnosed by using Trividha pareeksha. In general line of treatment of the khalitya Sodhan karma, Prachaan karma and application of lepa would be
beneficial. Thus Ayurveda will play a major role in managing the hair fall by its basic Principles explained along with its formulation.
