AYURVEDIC MANAGEMENT OF SIMPLE MYOPIA- A SINGLE CASE REPORT

ABSTRACT
Myopia is commonly referred as shortsightedness; it is a common cause of visual disability throughout the world. It is that dioptric condition of the eye in which the accommodation at rest, incident parallel rays of light comes to focus anterior to the light sensitive layer of retina. Simple myopia is the most common type, which is characterized by no degenerative changes in the fundus. It does not progress after adolescence when a degree of -5 or -6 is attained. Thus its symptoms can be find in Prathama patala gata as well as Dwithiya patala gata timira. Here we had try to treat a patient of 18 years presenting with simple myopic symptoms by adopting black box treatment method of Ayurveda, which mainly contains Chakshushya dravyas.
