ABSTRACT
In the present study, we report synthesis and evaluation of novel N- (substituted phenyl)-3-chloro-4-oxoazetidin-1-yl)-4-chloro-3- nitrobenzamide [4a-j] were prepared from schiff base with chloracetyl chloride and base try ethyl amine in the presence of non-polar solvents. The compounds were characterized by based on FTIR, 1H, 13C NMR and LCMass spectral data and elements analysis. Purity of synthesized compounds has been checked by HPLC. All the synthesized compounds have been screened for their antimicrobial activity to gram-positive and gram-negative bacterial strains and antifungal activity. The antimicrobial activities of the synthesized compounds have been compared with standard drugs such as Gentamycin and K. Nystanin.
