ABSTRACT

Introduction: A study was planned to detect ADRs and calculation of its prevalence rate, causality and severity assessment, outcome measurement, reporting. Methodology: A cross-sectional, prescription based, observational study patients attending dermatology OPD. Results: Among 36 ADRs 50% of suspected ADRs developed due to anti-microbial drugs, followed by non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (28%), anti-histaminic drugs (8%), antiepileptics drugs (8%), vasodilator and PPI (6%). ADRs were itching (22.23%), followed by facial redness (16.67%), fixed drug eruption (16.67%), generalised redness (13.89%), lips/tongue swelling (8.34%), maculopapular rash (8.34%), oral ulcer (5.56%), angioedema (2.78%), erythema multiforme (2.78%), Steven Johnson syndrome (2.78%). ADRs were found probable (63.89%), possible (33.33%) type with no fatality. Conclusion: ADR were probable followed by possible type with no fatality. Despite some limitations this study concluded that developed of ADRs was frequent with thing related to toxicity should be reported and prevent unintended deleterious consequences.
