ABSTRACT
The present study was performed experimentally by invitro method to examine the anti cancer activity at various concentration (62.5μg/ml - 1000 μg/ml) of ethanolic extract of the leaves of Cnidoscolus chayamansa against HT-29 (Colon carcinoma) cell lines using MTT assay method. From the study, it was observed that extracts showed moderate cytotoxic activity against both cancer and normal cell lines. The cytotoxicity of extracts was found to be in dose dependent and non selective as reflected by uniform CTC50 values independent of cell line origin.
Keywords: Cnidoscolus chayamansa, cytotoxicity, invitro, MTT, HT-29.
