ABSTRACT
Gliclazide, is a second generation sulphonylurea oral hypoglycemic agent used in the treatment of non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (NIDDM). It improves defective insulin secretion and may reverse insulin resistance observed in patients with NIDDM or known as type two diabetes. These actions are reflected in blood glucose level which is maintained during short and long term administrations. This research paper represent a method development approach for Gliclazide MR tablets. Degasses pH 7.4 buffer was used as dissolution media. the composition of mobile phase orthophosphoric acid buffer pH2.50±0.05 (pH adjusted by triethylamine)was used and ACN in ratio of 60:40was RP C8 column used at wavelength 230 nm flow was 1.9mL/min.
