FORMULATION AND EVALUATION OF NATURAL HAND WASH PREPARED FROM METHANOLIC EXTRACT OF POLYHERBAL LEAVES

ABSTRACT
Since traditional herbal remedies have a long history of use, many of the items that fall under this category are undoubtedly true. Patients have primarily contacted infections through the hands of healthcare professionals. Hands are the major route of microbe and illness transfer; hand cleanliness is the most efficient way to prevent the spread of hazardous germs and diseases. So, the present study was focused to prepare formulations of polyherbal handwash, using metholonic extracts of leaves from Nyctanthes arbor-tristis, Azadirachta indica, and lemon juice by macerating for threeto four days. Six formulations F1 to F6 was developed by simple mixing of ingredients and their Physical and chemical characteristics such as pH,
Viscosity, Foam height, Foam retention, Anti-Microbial Activity, Skin irritation assessment, and other parameters were used to evaluate herbal hand wash, and the results were found to be within normal ranges with minimum to no adverse effect. Further the research work is extended in the next article to use agar diffusion method to find antimicrobial activity of prepared formulations of hand wash and check against various skin pathogens to observe considerable zone of inhibition compared with standard antibiotic drug.
