ABSTRACT
In August 2015, the FDA authorized a 3D-printed medicine product, signaling the start of a new era in pharmaceutical production. However, industrial-scale production of novel dosage forms is limited, and the industry continues to rely on traditional drug delivery techniques, particularly modified tablets. The use of 3D printing technology in the pharmaceutical business has opened up new possibilities for printed materials and devices research and development. The most significant advantages of 3D printing technology are the ability to produce small quantities of medications with custom dosage forms, sizes, and release characteristics. This
current review gives the idea about the history, current 3DPtechnologioes, personalized drug dosing, advantages and disadvantages of 3D printing in drug delivery systems.
