ABSTRACT
Bioinformatics is combination of biology and information technology. It is multidisciplinary area of science combination of biological, computational, mathematical, statistical techniques and information technology. Using information technology tools, we can analysis biological data sequences fir the purpose of drug discovery. Bioinformatics also helps in biological algorithm development and suitable data analysis tools to collect information and make discoveries of synthetic drug compounds. Here we will discuss role of bioinformatics and its various tools for prediction of genes and proteins associated with the discovery of drug compounds for different disease by using computational and statistical techniques. Many researchers
have processed to enhance the gene and protein sequences for the analysis of genomic and proteomics data. In genomics and proteomics, bioinformatics helps in the study of gene and protein structures and the discovery of sequence sites where gene-gene and protein-protein interactions take place respectively. To help understanding biology at the system level, bioinformatics begins to show promise in unraveling genetic networks. Finally, in the study of drug discovery, bioinformatics is used to study the genomics, proteomics, transcriptomics and metagenomics etc. data for the analysis of new or modeled synthetic drug compounds.
Keywords: Bioinformatics, Drug discovery, Synthetic drug compounds, proteomics, genomics.
