ABSTRACT

Metoprolol is an cardioselective beta-1- adrenergic receptor inhibitor means beta-blocker. it is used in the treatment of hypertension, heart attack, chest pain by the administration of drug which is orally and intravenous route. Metoprolol synthesized and its activity discovered by Bengt Ablad and Enar Carlsson first made in 1969. In 1970 patened is approved for medical use in1982. Metoprolol is in two forms: metoprolol tartarate (lopressor) & metoprolol Succinate (Toprol-XL). Metoprolol is interact with some drugs. Metoprolol involves in Animal & Human Pharmacology & some side effect also seen.
