ABSTRACT
Liposomes are formation of vesicles by hydrating mixture of cholesterol and phospholipids. The significant contribution of liposomes as drug delivery system in the health care sector is known by many clinical product, e.g, doxil, Ambisome, DepoDur, etc. Thes are drug carrier loaded with great variety of molecules such as small drug molecules, protein, nucleotides and even plasmids. Most clinical application of liposomal drug delivery are targeting to tissue with or without expression of target recognisation molecules on lipid membrane. Thes review would be a help to the working in the area. The combination of liposomes with polymeric scaffolds could
revolutionize the current state of drug delivery technology. They improve the therapeutic performance of the drug molecules by delayed clearance from the circulation, protecting the drug from biological environment and restricting effect target cells.
Keywords: Liposomes, NDDS, Surface hydration, Polymer rybozymes, Targeted site etc.
